What are Credits?

Credits are in-app usage units that power AI generation features — including Sound Effects, Text-to-Speech, and Voice Effects.

Credits can be purchased exclusively inside the app using Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Your balance is securely stored and synced to your device.

Credits are for use within SFX Fun Factory only. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, traded, or resold.

Credits are not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred between users.

How do In-App Purchases work?

All purchases are processed entirely through Apple — we never handle payment details directly. When you buy a Credit Pack, Apple charges your Apple ID and notifies our server. Credits are added after Apple confirms the transaction is valid.

Available purchase types:

  • Credit Packs — consumable bundles of Credits for AI generation features
  • Ringtone Preparation Unlock — a one-time, non-consumable purchase that enables exporting audio in a ringtone-compatible format for manual use through Apple-supported tools
  • Tips — voluntary support for the app; tips do not unlock any features

The app does not use auto-renewing subscriptions of any kind.

Can I restore my purchases?

Yes. Tap Restore Purchases in the Settings screen to recover any non-consumable purchases (such as Ringtone Preparation Unlock) that are linked to your Apple ID.

Consumable Credit Packs are not restorable — this is standard Apple policy for consumable products. If you have a billing concern, please contact Apple Support via reportaproblem.apple.com.

What is a QR Code unlock?

QR Code unlocks allow users to redeem pre-created sound content inside the app. These codes may be shared during events, collaborations, or promotional campaigns.

Scanning a valid QR Code unlocks specific sound assets and downloads them directly into your Library.

QR Code unlocks:

  • Unlock sound content only
  • Do not grant Credits
  • Do not unlock paid features
  • Have no monetary value
  • All Unlocks are server-validated and single-use
What are Gift Credits?

Gift Credits allow you to purchase Credits for another SFX Fun Factory user.

To send a gift:

  • Scan the recipient’s profile QR code
  • Select a Credit package
  • Complete the purchase using Apple In-App Purchase

After Apple confirms the transaction, the selected Credits are issued directly to the recipient’s account.

Gift Credits:

  • Are purchased through Apple’s In-App Purchase system
  • Are generated specifically for the recipient
  • Have no cash value
  • Can only be used inside SFX Fun Factory
Do Credits expire?

No. Credits do not expire. Once purchased, they remain available in your balance until you use them for generation features inside the app.

What happens if a generation fails — are Credits deducted?

Credits are only deducted after a generation completes successfully.

If a request fails due to a network issue or service interruption, your balance will not be reduced.

The system verifies completion before applying any deduction.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Your sound library and previously generated audio are fully accessible offline. You can play, assign, and manage sounds without an internet connection.

AI generation features (Sound Effects and voice-based generation) require an active internet connection. If you're offline, generation options will be temporarily unavailable.

Why don’t ringtones appear automatically on my iPhone?

iOS does not allow apps to install ringtones automatically.

SFX Fun Factory prepares a ringtone-compatible .m4r file. To use it as a ringtone, you can:

  • Transfer the file to your device using Finder on macOS
  • Import the file into GarageBand on your iPhone and set it as a ringtone from there

Once installed, it will appear in Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone.

Does the app require an account?

No account, sign-up, or login is required.

The app uses a secure on-device identifier to manage your Credit balance and activity. You never need to provide an email address or personal profile information.

We do not collect personal identity information.

Where are my sounds stored?

All generated and recorded audio files are saved locally within the app’s sandbox on your device.

Audio files are not uploaded to our servers. Your Credit balance and generation history are stored securely on our server to ensure accuracy and prevent errors, but the audio itself remains on your device.

If you delete the app, locally stored sounds will be removed. Export any files you wish to keep before uninstalling.

Can I use Bluetooth or USB microphones?

Yes. SFX Fun Factory supports compatible Bluetooth and USB audio input devices.

Once connected to your device, supported microphones can be used for recording inside the app.
